File Prep FAQ

Questions about file cleanup, print prep, vectorizing, turnaround, and how orders work. For website and hosting questions, see the Website & Hosting FAQ →

Can you really fix any file?

No — and I will not pretend otherwise. Most files can be dramatically improved, but some are too low quality for a particular use and may be rejected or quoted as a rebuild instead. The free “Help me decide” review exists exactly for this: I tell you what is realistic before you spend money.

Can every logo be vectorized?

Not automatically. Simple, clean logos vectorize well. Complex artwork with gradients, textures, or photographic detail needs manual rebuilding (the Vector Rebuild service) and sometimes simplification. I review your file and tell you which camp it is in before work starts.

My artwork came from an AI generator. Is that a problem?

Not for me — cleaning up AI art is one of my main services. But AI files often contain artifacts, smeared details, and fake transparency that require manual cleanup. That is what the AI Artwork Print Prep service handles. Heavy reconstruction beyond cleanup gets quoted first.

What does “print-ready” actually mean?

Prepared to common production standards: correct resolution at print size, proper transparency, appropriate color handling, and a format your print method expects. It does not guarantee every printer’s exact in-house settings — if you know your vendor’s specs, tell me and I will match them where possible.

How fast will I get my files?

Standard turnaround is 2–3 business days. The 24-hour rush add-on is available on most services, based on availability. Deadlines you enter at checkout are factored in.

How many revisions are included?

Two revision rounds with every order. Additional rounds are a small add-on ($25–$75 depending on the service). Revisions cover adjustments to the work ordered — new scope is quoted separately.

What happens if my job needs more work than I paid for?

I stop and contact you with a quote before doing anything outside the purchased scope. You decide. The starting price never silently grows.

Do I own the cleaned-up files?

You get full use of the delivered files. You are responsible for having the rights to the artwork you submit — I clean up and rebuild files, I cannot transfer ownership of art you do not have rights to.

Where do I find my finished files?

In the My Projects section of your account, with secure download links. They are also announced by email the moment they are ready.

I am not sure which service I need.

Choose any service that seems close and pick the free “Help me decide” option, or send the file through the contact page. I will review it and point you to the right (cheapest correct) option.
